People often find national and ethnic stereotypes amusing. Swedes are no different in that respect. Especially when it comes to OTHER countries and ethnic groups...

But what do those ’others’ think about the Swedes?

When I was interviewing people from different countries for my film ‘Moscow – the Unknown Russia’, I took the opportunity and asked them whether or not they had been to Sweden. Some of them answered ‘yes’, some answered ‘no’, and I asked both categories to tell me what image of Sweden and the Swedes they had.

Some of the answers surprised even me - despite my having lived in Sweden for quite a while and being familiar with many prejudices.
